Tirupati questions, answered

How does the Tirumala Balaji darshan work, and are tickets included?
Darshan of Lord Venkateswara is managed by the TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams). We help you plan around it, but the darshan tickets, free Sarva Darshan, the paid Special Entry (₹300) darshan, and the laddu tokens, are booked through the TTD and paid directly; they are not included in the package. On busy days the wait can run several hours, so an early start and a pre-booked slot help a lot.
When is the best time to make this pilgrimage?
Tirupati is a year-round destination. October to March is the most comfortable weather. Crowds peak during weekends, public holidays and festivals such as Brahmotsavam and Vaikuntha Ekadashi, when darshan queues are longest, travel on weekdays if you can, and book darshan slots in advance.
Are meals included?
No, these packages are on a room-only basis, so meals are not included. Tirupati and the temple towns have plenty of pure-vegetarian restaurants, and temple prasadam and the famous Tirupati laddu are available at the shrines. We can add a meal plan on request.
Is there a dress code for the temples?
Yes. Most South Indian temples, and Tirumala in particular, expect traditional and modest dress, for men a dhoti/pyjama or formal trousers with a shirt, and for women a saree or salwar-kameez. Carry a small bag for footwear (removed at temple entrances) and note that phones and cameras are restricted inside many shrines.
What kind of stays are included?
You choose the category, Standard or Deluxe. Hotels are in Tirupati town (and the other temple towns as per the route) on twin-sharing, room-only. If a primary hotel is sold out we provide an equivalent alternate at no extra cost. Premium options such as branded hotels can be arranged on request.
