  • Lakeview camping, Heaven's Luxury Lakeview Resort: ₹1,600 per person. Best for the lowest price. A pool, box cricket, hi-tea and a bonfire. Tents shared by 2 or 3.
  • Harivillu camping, Harivillu Resort: ₹2,000 per person. Best for activities. 10 rope adventure activities, cycling, sports and a movie night. Tents shared by 2.
  • Sarpanpally Lake camping, the Wilderness campsite on Sarpanpally Lake: ₹2,000 per person. Best for a night by the lake. Lakeside tents, a live kitchen and free games, with ATV rides and paintball as paid extras. Tents shared by 2.

Night camping in Ananthagiri Hills: how the night runs

Camping runs every Saturday with check-out on Sunday morning, so it fits one night away from the city without a day of leave.

  • Saturday afternoon: reach the camp by 3 to 4 PM, check in and get your tent.
  • Evening: tea and snacks, then the pool, games or activities your camp offers.
  • Night: dinner, music and a bonfire.
  • Sunday morning: an early walk or sunrise trek, breakfast, and check-out at 11 AM.

Check-in is at 3 PM (4 PM at Harivillu) and check-out at 11 AM; the hour-by-hour plan is on each camp's page. Every camp has washrooms at the campsite.

Camping for couples, friends, families and office teams

  • Couples: premium camping at Trance Veechika (₹2,999) is the quieter, more private pick; the Sarpanpally lakeside camp (₹2,000) is the scenic one. A tent is shared by the two of you at the base price.
  • Friends: Harivillu (₹2,000) for the rope activities and movie night, or lakeview camping at Heaven's Luxury Lakeview Resort (₹1,600) to keep the budget down.
  • Families: all four camps take children; under-5s stay free and the pool camps keep younger kids busy.
  • Office and college groups: any camp can be booked for a team outing on a Saturday, or on a weekday for a large group. Tell us the headcount and we will send one quote.

Each camp sits inside or beside a resort near Ananthagiri Hills, Vikarabad, so you get the resort's pool, grounds and washrooms along with the tent.

Hyderabad to Ananthagiri Hills: distance and how to reach

Ananthagiri Hills is near Vikarabad, about 80 to 90 km west of Hyderabad, a drive of 2 to 2.5 hours.

  • By road: take the Chevella road (via APPA Junction and Moinabad) to Vikarabad, then on to the hills. It is a popular bike and car road trip, and the last stretch runs through the forest.
  • By bus: TSRTC buses run from Hyderabad to Vikarabad through the day; the camps are a short auto or cab ride from the town.
  • By train: Vikarabad Junction is on the Hyderabad to Mumbai line, about 1.5 hours from the city; take an auto or cab from the station.
  • By cab: we can add a cab from Hyderabad to your booking at an extra cost.

Camping near Hyderabad: all four camps compared

Ananthagiri Hills tour plan: one night, two days

  • Saturday morning: leave Hyderabad after breakfast. Stop at the Anantha Padmanabha Swamy temple on the hill and walk the forest trail behind it to the viewpoint.
  • Saturday midday: lunch in Vikarabad, then Kotepally reservoir for kayaking and boating (about 25 km from the hills).
  • Saturday 3 to 4 PM: check in at your camp. Tea, activities, dinner and the bonfire.
  • Sunday: sunrise walk or trek, breakfast, check-out, and back in Hyderabad by early afternoon.

Only have a day? The temple, the forest trail and Kotepally make a full one-day trip from Hyderabad, but the bonfire night is what most people come for.

Trekking, lakes and things to do near the camps

  • Trekking: the Ananthagiri forest trail starts near the temple and runs through the reserve forest to the viewpoints. It is an easy 1 to 2 hour walk. The premium camp includes a guided sunrise trek.
  • Kotepally reservoir: kayaking and boating on the lake, best in the morning or late afternoon.
  • Sarpanpally Lake: the lakeside camp sits on it; good for sunset.
  • Anantha Padmanabha Swamy temple: the old temple the hills are named after.
  • The source of the Musi: the river that runs through Hyderabad starts in these hills.

Waterfalls: there is no large year-round waterfall at Ananthagiri Hills. In the monsoon (July to September) small seasonal streams run through the forest, and the hills are at their greenest.
