Places to visit in Dandeli
Every trip on this page covers the places below; a private trip can drop one and add another.
- Kali river rafting: A 9 km stretch with grade II and III rapids, about two hours, run from October to May when the dam releases hold.
- Kayaking and coracle rides: Calmer water near the camps, usually included with the rafting slot.
- Dandeli–Anshi Tiger Reserve safari: A jeep safari for gaur, langur, hornbills and, with luck, a black panther; dawn and dusk slots.
- Syntheri Rocks: A single granite monolith carved by the Kaneri river, 35 km through the forest, with 400 steps down.
- Sathodi Falls: A wide fall an hour and a half away, reached through teak forest; best after the monsoon.
- Kavala Caves: Limestone caves with a natural Shivalinga, a steep 375-step descent, open October to May.
- Supa dam and the backwaters: Sunset over the reservoir and the crocodile park on the way back.
