Shimla questions, answered

I am not from Delhi - can I still take this trip?
Yes. The trip starts at Delhi, which every Indian city reaches by flight or train. Reach Delhi and everything after that, from pickup to final drop, is on us. Flying into Chandigarh or Bhuntar instead is easy to arrange too.
Is this a group departure or a private trip?
This is a fully private trip: your own cab, your own dates and your own pace. The route here is the recommended plan, and we adjust it to your liking when you enquire.
What is the best season for this trip?
March to June is the pleasant window, with green meadows at Khajjiar and clear Dhauladhar views from McLeod Ganj. Winter is crisp and quiet, and the monsoon between July and September brings mist and the odd landslide on the hill roads.
Will we see snow, and is Rohtang Pass included?
Solang Valley and the Atal Tunnel to Sissu hold snow through much of the year and need no special permit. Rohtang Pass is separate: it opens around May, closes on maintenance days and needs a permit with a limited daily quota, so it is planned as an add-on when open.
How does the Wagah ceremony day work?
The beating retreat starts around sunset and seating is first-come, so we leave Amritsar by mid-afternoon. Carry ID; large bags stay in the cab. The Golden Temple langar and Jallianwala Bagh fill the same day nicely.
Can the itinerary be customised?
Yes. Days can be added or removed, stays upgraded, and places swapped. Send an enquiry with your dates and group size and we will build the exact plan and price for you.
