Vizag tour packages at a glance

  • Duration: 2 days; most travellers take 2.
  • Price: from ₹4,999 per person, stays, local travel and the sightseeing listed on each trip page.
  • Places: RK Beach and the submarine museum, Kailasagiri, Rushikonda, Simhachalam temple, Yarada beach and the Borra caves inland.
  • Travel: Every trip starts with a pick-up wherever you are coming from; the trip pages say what the journey covers.
  • Stay: a sea-facing hotel on Beach Road or a resort at Rushikonda.
  • Best time: October to March is the season, with dry, pleasant days on the coast and clear mornings in the hills.
  • Weather: Vizag is coastal: 20 to 30°C from November to February, 30 to 38°C and humid from April to June, and a monsoon from July to September with a rough sea.
  • Trip type: private trips planned around your dates and your group.

Places to visit in Vizag

Every trip on this page covers the places below; a private trip can drop one and add another.

  • RK Beach and the Kursura submarine: The city seafront with the INS Kursura museum, a real submarine you walk through, and the TU-142 aircraft museum beside it.
  • Kailasagiri: A hilltop park reached by ropeway, with the Shiva-Parvati statue and the bay below.
  • Rushikonda Beach: The swimming beach 8 km north, with water sports and the cleanest sand in the city.
  • Simhachalam Temple: An 11th-century Varaha Narasimha temple on a hill, its deity covered in sandalwood all year.
  • Yarada Beach: A quieter crescent beyond the Dolphin's Nose headland, 15 km south.
  • Borra Caves and Araku: The caves and the valley inland, three hours up the ghat, on most Vizag itineraries.
  • Bheemili and the Dutch cemetery: The old port town 25 km north where the Gosthani meets the sea.
  • Kambalakonda: An eco-park and reserve on the city edge for a morning walk or a cycle.

A 3 day Vizag trip, day by day

A private trip runs the same plan at your own pace; a group departure follows it to the minute.

  • Day 1: RK Beach, the submarine and aircraft museums, Kailasagiri by ropeway for sunset.
  • Day 2: the ghat road to Borra caves and Araku valley, the coffee museum, and back or an overnight in the valley.
  • Day 3: Simhachalam in the morning, Rushikonda or Yarada beach, and the airport or station by evening.

Vizag trip cost and what the price covers

Vizag packages start at ₹4,999 per person: ₹4,999 for 2 days. That covers the stays, the local travel, the sightseeing and activities each trip page lists; the journey from your city is quoted with the trip so you can pick the train, bus or flight.

What moves the price is the room category, the season and the group size. Weekends, long weekends and the December fortnight cost more than a mid-week date, and a group of four to six brings the per-person price down because the car and the rooms are shared. Entry tickets and anything not named on the trip page stay out of the fare, so the number you see is the number you pay.

Vizag and Araku packages

Araku is three and a half hours up the ghat, or a morning on the Kirandul train through 58 tunnels, and the Borra caves sit on the way. Most Vizag trips include it.

3 trips on this page, from ₹4,999 per person: 2 Days Araku Valley Bliss from Vizag (2D/1N, from ₹4,999); 2 Days Araku Vanjangi Bliss (2D/1N, from ₹5,299); 2 Days Araku Lambasingi Bliss (2D/1N, from ₹5,499).

Vizag for friends, couples and families

Families and couples take the private trips: the same places at your own pace, with the room category and the car chosen for your group.

Best time to visit Vizag and how to reach

Best time

October to March is the season, with dry, pleasant days on the coast and clear mornings in the hills. April to June is hot and humid; the monsoon from July to September is green and quiet, and the sea is rough.

  • November to February, 20 to 30°C: The best months on the coast, and cool enough in the hills for a sunrise trip.
  • March to June, 30 to 38°C: Hot and humid; beaches are for early morning and evening.
  • July to October, 26 to 33°C: Monsoon and cyclone season, a rough sea, and the lowest hotel rates.

What to pack

Light cotton and sandals for the coast, plus a jacket if the trip goes up to Araku or Lambasingi. Sunscreen for the beaches, and modest clothing for Simhachalam temple.

Getting there

Vizag is about 620 km from Hyderabad. The overnight train is the way most people do it — services leave Secunderabad, Kacheguda and Lingampalli through the evening and reach Visakhapatnam Junction in the morning, about 12 hours, and IRCTC sells Vizag and Araku packages built around them. The fixed-date group trips travel the same way. By road it is 11 hours; the flight is 70 minutes.

Chennai to Vizag is about 800 km, 13 hours by road or 12 by train along the coast; the flight is 80 minutes.

Bangalore to Vizag is a 90-minute flight, or an overnight train of about 18 hours; by road it is close to 1,000 km.

Every Vizag trip we run

This page answers one question. The hub lists the whole Vizag catalogue — every length, every departure city, group departures and private trips — with the same prices.

From people just like you

During this memorable trip, it wasn't merely a voyage but an enriching adventure shared with dear friends and family. The experience proved to be exceptionally comfortable, justifying every penny spent. Opting for this option was a decision I would have regretted not making, given the unparalleled comfort and joy it brought. A pivotal factor in this delightful journey was our travel guide, Deepika. Her remarkable care and attention to detail ensured that every moment was free of discomfort, making this expedition truly special.

Our Keral trip was good, it was a well organised and traveloger team took care of everything so well. However, our trip was during christmas and obviously all the places were crowed and roads were blocked. Also, it was informed to us that the places will be crowed. So, we had no expectations and had good vacation.
