Mandalpatti: A jeep-only track above Madikeri that reaches 1,600 m for sunrise over the clouds.
Abbey Falls: Eight km from Madikeri, a short walk to a hanging bridge facing the fall.
Dubare Elephant Camp: The forest camp on the Kaveri where you help bathe and feed the elephants; mornings only.
Raja's Seat: The sunset garden looking west over the Coorg valley.
Namdroling Monastery, Bylakuppe: The Golden Temple of the Tibetan settlement, with chanting at 5 pm.
Mullayanagiri: Karnataka's highest peak at 1,930 m, a stepped walk from the road head to a small Shiva shrine.
Baba Budangiri: The ridge of caves and the shrine beyond Mullayanagiri, with Manikyadhara falls on the same road.

Getting there

Neither hill station has an airport or a railway station. Coorg is reached through Mysuru or Mangaluru, Chikmagalur through Hassan or Kadur, and the drive between the two takes about three hours through the coffee belt. Every trip here includes the road legs.
