- Sightseeing as listed, and a Travloger trip captain on every group departure.
What it does not include

- Lunches on travel days, anything personal, and travel insurance.
Who this trip suits
Solo travellers and friends: the fixed-date departures are mixed groups with a trip captain, from ₹6,699 per person, and rooms are shared by gender. About half of every group travels alone, so joining by yourself is the normal way to do this trip, not the exception.
Couples and families: the same route runs as a private trip with your own car, a room to yourselves and the early starts dropped. Mandalpatti and Mullayanagiri involve jeep rides on rough tracks, which is worth knowing if you are travelling with very young children or elderly parents; both can be swapped for an estate morning.
Best time to go, and getting to Coorg and Chikmagalur from Hyderabad
Best time
- October to February, 13 to 28°C: The best window for both halves: clear mornings on Mullayanagiri, full waterfalls after the rains, cold nights on the estates.
- March to May, 18 to 33°C: Warm in the valleys and pleasant on the estates, with the fewest people on the jeep tracks.
- June to September, 16 to 26°C: The monsoon: mist, heavy rain, waterfalls at their fullest, and the lowest prices. Mandalpatti and the Kemmangundi tracks can close.
Getting there
From Hyderabad there is no direct train or flight to either hill station. The group departures travel overnight by train or bus to Hassan, Mysuru or Bengaluru and cover the last stretch by road, leaving Friday night and returning Monday morning. Flying to Bengaluru or Mangaluru and driving five to six hours is the fastest private option.
Or take them one at a time
Both hill stations also run as trips of their own: Coorg for the waterfalls, Dubare and the estates, Chikmagalur for the peaks and the sunrise points.
