Day-wise plan
Every day runs on a private cab - the order and pace are yours to change.
1Day 1 - Trip begins at Hubli - Hubli to Gokarna, by way of Vibhuthi Falls.
- Pick-up at Hubli and the drive west towards the coast.
- Stop at Vibhuthi Falls: a short walk in, and a dip in the pools under the terraced limestone.
- Continue to Gokarna and out to Om Beach for the afternoon and the sunset.
- Check in and the evening is yours. Overnight in Gokarna.
2Day 2 - Mahabaleshwar darshan, then south to Mangalore.
- Morning darshan at the Mahabaleshwar temple in old Gokarna. Traditional attire is expected.
- Check out and drive south along the coast to Mangalore.
- An afternoon in the city: the Mangaladevi temple the town takes its name from, the carved Kudroli Gokarnanatha temple and the Kadri Manjunatha temple.
- Sunset on the beach at Tannirbhavi or Panambur.
- Overnight in Mangalore.
3Day 3 - Mangalore to Kukke Subramanya and Dharmasthala.
- Check out after breakfast and drive inland to Kukke Subramanya, about two and a half hours.
- Darshan at the Kukke Subramanya temple on the Kumaradhara river.
- On to Dharmasthala and check in.
- Evening darshan at the Manjunatha temple, and the Bahubali monolith above the town.
- Overnight in Dharmasthala.
4Day 4 - Dharmasthala and Sringeri, then down to Udupi.
- An early morning at the Manjunatha temple before the queues build.
- Drive through the ghats to Sringeri.
- The Sharada Peetham on the Tunga river, and the Vidyashankara temple beside it.
- Continue to Udupi and check in. Overnight in Udupi.
5Day 5 - Udupi and Kollur, then across to Murudeshwar.
- Morning darshan at the Sri Krishna temple through the Kanakana Kindi window.
- Time on the Udupi coast at Malpe, with the St Mary’s Island ferry if the sea allows it.
- Drive north to Kollur for the Mookambika temple below Kodachadri.
- Continue to Murudeshwar and check in. Overnight in Murudeshwar.
6Day 6 - Trip ends at Hubli - Murudeshwar, Honnavar and Mirjan, then home.
- Early darshan at the Murudeshwar temple under the great Shiva, and time on the beach.
- Drive to Honnavar for the mangrove boardwalk and a slow boat on the Sharavathi backwaters.
- Stop at Mirjan Fort, laterite walls deep in green country.
- Continue to Hubli for the drop and the journey home.
