1Day 1 - Trip begins at Srinagar - Arrival in Srinagar | Sightseeing & Shikara Ride.

  • Tour the Mughal Gardens, Pari Mahal and the Shankaracharya Temple.
  • Evening Shikara ride across Dal Lake past floating gardens and houseboats.
  • Overnight stay in Srinagar.
2Day 2 - Srinagar to Sonmarg | The Meadow of Gold.
  • After breakfast and check-out, drive to Sonmarg along the Sindh river.
  • Take a pony ride to the Thajiwas Glacier viewpoint amid alpine meadows.
  • Spend a quiet evening in the valley away from the crowds.
  • Overnight stay in Sonmarg.
3Day 3 - Sonmarg to Gulmarg | Gondola & Golf Course.
  • After breakfast, drive across the valley to Gulmarg.
  • Ride the Gulmarg Gondola towards Apharwat Peak (Phase I & II, weather permitting).
  • Walk the meadows and the historic Gulmarg Golf Course.
  • Gondola tickets, pony rides and the union cab are paid directly.

4Day 4 - Gulmarg to Pahalgam | The Valley of Shepherds.

  • Overnight stay in Pahalgam.
5Day 5 - Pahalgam Sightseeing | Aru, Betaab & Chandanwari.
  • After breakfast, take a union cab for the full-day Pahalgam circuit.
  • Visit Aru Valley, Betaab Valley and Chandanwari at the head of the Lidder.
  • Optional rafting on the Lidder river, payable directly.
  • Golden-hour photography before returning.
  • Overnight stay in Pahalgam.
6Day 6 - Trip ends at Srinagar - Departure from Srinagar.
  • After breakfast and check-out, drive back to Srinagar.
  • Transfer to Srinagar Airport for your journey home.

Kashmir questions, answered

What is the best time to do this Kashmir trip?
The trip runs all year. March-May brings tulips and blossom, June-August gives the greenest meadows and the most comfortable weather, September-October is the golden chinar season, and December-February turns Gulmarg into a snow destination. Heavy snowfall can occasionally affect the Gulmarg and Sonmarg roads in peak winter.
Are the Gondola tickets and pony rides included?
No. The Gulmarg Gondola, pony and sledge rides, and the Thajiwas Glacier pony ride are paid directly on the spot. Gondola tickets are issued by the state cable-car corporation and are subject to availability on the day, so book them as soon as you reach Gulmarg.
Why are local union cabs needed at Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonmarg?
Local transport unions do not allow outside vehicles beyond the main cab stand at these points. Your private vehicle drops you at the stand and a local union cab takes you on the sightseeing circuit. These union charges are fixed and paid directly, which is why they sit under exclusions.
How much walking is involved?
Very little. Sightseeing is point-to-point by vehicle, and the walks at the Mughal Gardens, Betaab and Aru valleys are short and flat. The only uphill sections are the optional pony rides at Pahalgam and Thajiwas Glacier, which you can skip entirely.
What should we pack?
Even in summer the mornings and evenings are cool, so carry a light jacket and a warm layer for Gulmarg and Sonmarg. From November to March you need proper winter wear, gloves, cap and waterproof shoes, snow boots and jackets can also be hired at Gulmarg. Sunscreen and sunglasses matter year-round at this altitude.
Can this itinerary be customised?
