1Day 1 - Trip begins at Chennai - Chennai to Chidambaram, space element
- Cab pickup in Chennai, ideal start 6 to 8:30 AM, drive to Chidambaram
- Two hours at the Thillai Nataraja Temple, the Pancha Bhoota shrine of space, sacred to Shiva as cosmic dancer; open 6 AM to 12:30 PM and 4:45 to 9 PM
- Drive 27 km to Vaitheeswaran Koil, the healing form of Shiva and a Navagraha temple for Mars; open 6 to 11 AM and 4:30 to 9:30 PM
- Night in Chidambaram
2Day 2 - Trichy temples, water element, then Madurai
- Drive Chidambaram to Trichy in the morning
- Visit Jambukeshwar Temple at Thiruvanaikoil, the water-element Pancha Bhoota sthalam; open 5:30 AM to noon and 5 to 9 PM
- Give 2 to 3 hours to Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, Srirangam, top of the 108 Divya Desams and the largest working temple complex anywhere
- Climb Trichy's Rock Fort on its 3.8 billion year old rock, with the Ucchi Pillayar and Thayumanavar shrines
- Continue to Madurai for the night
3Day 3 - Madurai sights, drive to Rameshwaram
- Morning of 2 to 3 hours at the Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple, one of India's biggest shrines and a former New Seven Wonders nominee; open 5 AM to 12:30 PM and 4 to 9:30 PM
- Tour Thirumalai Nayak Mahal, the Indo-Saracenic palace of 1636, now a national monument, with light shows at 6:45 and 8:15 PM
- Quick stop at Koodal Alagar Temple, the Vishnu shrine reckoned older than the Meenakshi Temple, showing the deity in three postures
- Drive to Rameshwaram island for the night
4Day 4 - Rameshwaram darshan, back to Trichy
- Dawn dip at Agniteertham, the sea ghat by the temple's east gate tied to Rama's worship of Shiva; open 6 AM to 6 PM
- Visit Ramanatha Swamy Temple, Jyotirlinga and Char Dham site in one; open 5 AM to 1 PM and 3 to 9 PM
- Drive 18 km to Dhanushkodi, the cyclone-erased ghost town at the island's tip; open 7 AM to 5 PM
- Long drive back to Trichy for the night
5Day 5 - Tiruvannamalai fire shrine to Kanchipuram
- Drive Trichy to Tiruvannamalai
- Darshan at the Annamalaiyar (Arunachaleswarar) Temple, the fire-element Pancha Bhoota sthalam and the world's eighth largest Hindu temple
- Continue to Kanchipuram
- Night in Kanchipuram
6Day 6 - Kanchipuram earth element, on to Tirupati
- Full circuit of the temple city: Kamakshi Amman Temple, a Shakti Peetha and seat of the Kanchi mutt (1 hour)
- Sri Ekambarnathar Temple, the earth-element Pancha Bhoota shrine of Shiva, sung in the 7th century Tevaram
- Kailasanathar Temple, the city's oldest Shiva temple, built 685 to 705 AD by Pallava king Narasimha II
- Break for meals and check-out
- Varadarajaswami Temple, fourth Divya Desam and a Perumal Koil linked to Ramanuja
- Vaikunta Perumal Temple, a Divya Desam matching Kailasanathar in craft
- Drive to Tirupati for the night
7Day 7 - Trip ends at Chennai - Tirupati, Srikalahasti air shrine, home
- Visit Tiruchanur, the Padmavati temple 5 km from Tirupati that traditionally completes a Tirumala pilgrimage
- Govindaraja Swami Temple in Tirupati town, with Ramanuja's 1130 AD deity and 14th century gopura carvings
- Kapila Theertham, the lone Shiva temple near Tirupati with its 100 foot waterfall into the temple pond
- Srikalahasteeswara Temple at Srikalahasti, the air-element Pancha Bhoota shrine cut from a stone hill, 120 foot gopura, famed for the devotee Kannappa's sacrifice
- Drive back to Chennai; tour ends
