1Day 1 · Haridwar to Barkot
- Our representative meets you in Haridwar, Dehradun or Rishikesh and your private vehicle starts for Barkot, about 210 km and 7 to 8 hours.
- The road climbs through Mussoorie, so the first day already brings the hills and the Yamuna valley.
- Check in at Barkot (1,352 m) and rest. Tomorrow starts early. Night in Barkot.
2Day 2 · Yamunotri darshan, the first dham
- Early drive of 42 km to Janki Chatti, the last point a vehicle reaches.
- From there it is a 5 km walk each way to the temple at about 3,165 m. A pony, doli or palanquin can be hired at the trailhead at your own cost.
- Bathe in the hot Jamunabai Kund if you wish, then go in for darshan. Pilgrims cook rice in a cloth in the hot spring at Surya Kund and carry it home as prasad.
- Pay respects at Divya Shila, the rock pillar worshipped before entering the temple.
- Walk or ride back down and drive to Barkot. Night in Barkot.
3Day 3 · Barkot to Uttarkashi
- After breakfast, leave around 9 am for Uttarkashi, about 100 km and 4 hours.
- Stop at Prakateshwar Mahadev cave temple on the way.
- Check in at Uttarkashi (1,158 m), on the bank of the Bhagirathi.
- In the evening visit the Kashi Vishwanath temple with its great iron trident. Night in Uttarkashi.
4Day 4 · Gangotri darshan, the second dham
- Leave around 5 am for Gangotri (3,142 m), about 100 km and 4 to 5 hours each way through Harsil and the deodar forests.
- Take a holy dip in the Ganga, called the Bhagirathi here at her origin, then go in for darshan at the temple on her bank.
- Drive back to Uttarkashi by evening. Night in Uttarkashi.
5Day 5 · Uttarkashi to Sersi
- A full road day: about 220 km and 8 to 9 hours to Sersi near Phata, the helipad for the Kedarnath and Badrinath sector.
- Check in and rest. The helicopter reporting time is confirmed to you this evening.
- Pack one small bag of 5 kg or less per person for tomorrow; suitcases do not fly. Night in Sersi.
6Day 6 · Kedarnath and Badrinath by helicopter
- Report at the Sersi or Phata helipad at the time confirmed the evening before.
- Fly to Kedarnath, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, for priority darshan, then on to Badrinath, the seat of Lord Vishnu, for priority darshan there.
- Breakfast or lunch is served at Sersi or at one of the dhams depending on the flight time, and our crew assists at both temples.
- Return to Sersi by helicopter. Flying is subject to weather and air traffic clearance, and the order of the two dhams can change. Night in Sersi.
7Day 7 · Sersi to Haridwar
- After breakfast, drive back to Haridwar, about 240 km and 8 to 9 hours. A Dehradun drop can be arranged instead.
- The yatra is complete on arrival. We strongly suggest keeping one spare day before your onward train or flight, since hill weather can hold a helicopter back.
