Meghalaya questions, answered

What is the best time to visit Meghalaya?
October to April is the comfortable window, with clear skies and the Umngot river at its clearest. The monsoon (June to September) is dramatic, with the waterfalls at full force, but expect heavy rain and slower drives.
How do I reach the starting point of this 6 day trip?
The trip starts and ends at Guwahati, which has direct flights from most metros and good rail connections. Your pickup and drop are part of the plan, so you only need to reach Guwahati.
Is this a group departure or a private trip?
This is a fully private trip: your own cab, your own dates and your own pace. The route here is the recommended plan, and we adjust it to your liking when you enquire.
Can the itinerary be customised?
Yes. Days can be added or removed, stays upgraded, and places swapped. Send an enquiry with your dates and group size and we will build the exact plan and price for you.
How hard is the Nongriat double-decker root bridge trek?
It is about 3,500 steps each way, doable for anyone reasonably fit if taken slowly. Carry water, wear good grip shoes, and keep the evening free to recover.
Do phone networks and ATMs work in Meghalaya?
Shillong and Cherrapunji have decent Jio and Airtel coverage; it thins out towards Dawki and the villages. Carry some cash, as ATMs are scarce outside the towns.
