1Day 1 - Trip begins at Guwahati - Guwahati arrival, drive to Tezpur
- Fly into Guwahati and meet the on-ground team
- Drive to Tezpur on the Brahmaputra
- En route visit Maha Mrityunjaya Temple at Nagaon, with a giant Shivlinga carved from a single stone
- Dinner and overnight Tezpur (1 night)
2Day 2 - Mahabhairab Temple, into Arunachal at Dirang
- Morning visit to Mahabhairab Temple, among Assam's oldest Shiva shrines
- Photo stop at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj statue
- Drive up to the valley town of Dirang in Arunachal Pradesh
- All meals; overnight Dirang (1 night)
3Day 3 - Bomdila Monastery and Sela Pass to Tawang
- Visit Bomdila Monastery amid green hills
- Cross Sela Pass at 13,700 ft with snow-peak views and see Sela (Paradise) Lake
- Halt at the Jaswant Garh Indo-China war memorial
- All meals; overnight Tawang (2 nights)
4Day 4 - Bum La Pass, high lakes and Tawang Monastery
- Early drive to Bum La Pass on the Indo-China border at 15,200 ft (needs army permission and fair weather)
- Visit P.T. (Peng Teng) Tso Lake and Shungatser (Madhuri) Lake of Koyla fame
- Tour Tawang Monastery, counted among the world's largest Mahayana monasteries
- Evening sound and light show at the Tawang War Memorial; hot noodles at the pass, momos at the hotel; all meals
5Day 5 - Nuranang Falls on the way back to Bomdila
- Return leg from Tawang to Bomdila
- Stop at the dramatic Nuranang Falls at Jang
- Juice at the waterfall, lassi or chaas on the drive; all meals; overnight Bomdila (1 night)
6Day 6 - On to Itanagar
- Drive to Itanagar, capital of Arunachal Pradesh
- Visit the hilltop Gompa Buddhist Temple with city views
- All meals; overnight Itanagar (2 nights)
7Day 7 - Ziro valley and the Apatani tribe
- Full-day excursion to the Ziro valley, home of the Apatani tribe with its paddy-cum-fish farming
- Scenic stop at Potin Dam and a visit to Tago Nyishi village
- Walk through traditional Apatani villages, known for the women's facial tattoos and nose plugs
- Local snacks in the village; all meals; back to Itanagar for the night
8Day 8 - Across to Jorhat, Assam's tea capital
- Long scenic drive from Itanagar to Jorhat, skirting the edge of Kaziranga National Park
- All meals; overnight Jorhat (2 nights)
9Day 9 - Ferry to Majuli island
- Drive to Nimati Ghat and take the ferry to Majuli, the world's largest river island
- Visit Auniati Satra and Samaguri Satra, keepers of satriya dance and traditional mask-making
- Refreshments during the satra visit; all meals; return to Jorhat for the night
10Day 10 - Into Nagaland: Kohima sights
- Drive to Kohima via Sukapha Samannay Kshetra, the memorial to Ahom founder Chaolung Sukapha
- In Kohima see the War Cemetery (if open), Nagaland State Museum, State Emporium and the grand Kohima Cathedral
- All meals; overnight Kohima (2 nights)
11Day 11 - Khonoma green village and Kisama heritage village
- Heritage walk in Khonoma, Asia's first green village and an Angami conservation showcase
- Visit Kisama, the Naga Heritage Village and Hornbill Festival venue, for tribal architecture and local interaction
- All meals; overnight Kohima
12Day 12 - Back to Assam: Kohima to Kaziranga
- Travel day into rhino country at Kaziranga
- All meals; overnight Kaziranga (2 nights)
13Day 13 - Kaziranga safari, Orchid Park and Bihu
- Morning jeep safari in the UNESCO-listed Kaziranga National Park: one-horned rhinos, elephants, wild boar, swamp deer, migratory birds
- Orchid Park with 600-plus orchid varieties, bamboo and medicinal gardens and a cultural museum
- Tea garden walk and an evening Bihu dance performance
- Note: park typically open till 31 May; alternative sightseeing if it shuts early; all meals
14Day 14 - Kaziranga to Shillong
- Drive to Shillong, the Scotland of the East
- Viewpoint stop at Umiam Lake; free evening
- All meals; overnight Shillong (3 nights)
15Day 15 - Dawki river and Mawlynnong day
- Boat ride on the glass-clear Umngot river at Dawki and a stop at the Tamabil Indo-Bangladesh border
- Explore Mawlynnong, Asia's cleanest village: Balancing Rock, the Khasi-built living root bridge, gardens and thatched huts
- All meals; back to Shillong for the night
16Day 16 - Shillong and Cherrapunjee sights
- Cathedral of Mary (if open), Elephant Falls and Ram Krishna Mission
- Day trip to Cherrapunjee (Sohra): Mawsmai Caves, Seven Sisters Falls and the Nohkalikai Falls viewpoint
- Evening market shopping; all meals; overnight Shillong
17Day 17 - Guwahati ropeway and Brahmaputra cruise
- Drive down to Guwahati
- Ride India's longest river ropeway over the Brahmaputra with views of Umananda Temple and Peacock Island
- Evening cruise on the Brahmaputra; jhalmuri tasting
- All meals; overnight Guwahati (1 night)
18Day 18 - Trip ends at Kohima - Kamakhya Temple and departure
- Mukh Darshan at Kamakhya Temple, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas
- Airport transfer for the flight home; breakfast included; tour ends
