1Day 1 · Trip begins at Colombo - Arrive in Colombo, free afternoon
- Private airport transfer to the hotel and check in
- Rest of the day free to explore the capital at your own pace
2Day 2 · Elephant orphanage, drive to Kandy, lake drive and dance show
- Check out and drive towards Kandy
- Stop at the Pinnawala elephant orphanage for the feeding and bathing sessions
- Check in at Kandy, then take an evening drive around the upper lake
- Watch a traditional Kandyan dance performance before returning to the hotel
3Day 3 · Day trip to Sigiriya
- Drive out to the Sigiriya rock fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site
- Optional climb up the rock cut stairway for views across the plains
- See the remains of the royal gardens, the frescoes and the lion gateway, then return to Kandy
4Day 4 · Kandy sightseeing, then transfer to Yala
- Start at the Bahirawakanda Vihara Buddha statue overlooking the city
- Walk the royal botanical gardens with their several thousand plant species
- Visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic
- Drive on to Yala and check in for the night
5Day 5 · Yala safari, drive to Bentota, free evening
- Morning jeep safari in Yala National Park with a chance of leopard and other wildlife sightings, ticket included
- Drive to the coast at Bentota and check in
- Rest of the day free by the beach
6Day 6 · Day trip to Galle and Mirissa
- Drive south to the old fort at Galle and its maritime museum
- Stop at Coconut Tree Hill for coastal views
- Time on Mirissa beach, with optional water sports at your own cost
- See the old Dutch Reformed church before returning to Bentota
7Day 7 · Transfer to Colombo and city sightseeing
- Drive back to the capital and check in
- City tour covering the Lotus Tower and its skyline views
- Visit the Gangaramaya Buddhist temple and the Pettah floating market
8Day 8 · Trip ends at Colombo - Departure
- Check out and private transfer to Colombo airport for the flight home
