1Day 1 - Trip begins at Paro Airport - Arrive at Paro and transfer to Thimphu
- Land at Paro International Airport and clear immigration
- Drive across to Thimphu and check in
- Rest of the day free to walk the local market
- Dinner and overnight in Thimphu
2Day 2 - Thimphu sightseeing
- Visit the National Memorial Chorten raised in honour of the late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck
- See the great Buddha statue overlooking the Thimphu valley and the Motithang takin preserve
- Walk through Tashichho Dzong, seat of the government and summer residence of the chief abbot
- Continue to Simtokha Dzong, the oldest dzong in the country, dating to 1627
- Browse the handicrafts emporium and the town's markets
3Day 3 - Transfer to Punakha with sightseeing en route
- Stop at Dochula Pass for the higher Himalayan skyline if the weather is clear
- Visit Chimi Lhakhang, the fertility temple built by Lama Drukpa Kunley
- Explore Punakha Dzong at the meeting of the Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers
- Check in at Punakha for dinner and the night
4Day 4 - Transfer to Paro and Paro sightseeing
- Drive from Punakha to Paro and check in
- Visit the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong in the upper valley, with views to Mount Jomolhari on a clear day
- Stop at Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in the country, dating to 659 AD
- Dinner and overnight in Paro
5Day 5 - Excursion and hike to Taktsang Monastery
- Drive to the base of the Tiger's Nest trail and begin the roughly 6.5 kilometre hike
- Climb through pine forest and prayer flags, with a halt at the midway cafeteria
- Finish on about 700 steps to the monastery built around Guru Rinpoche's meditation cave, on a cliff dropping some 900 metres
- Visit Ta Dzong, the old watchtower that now holds the National Museum, and Rinpung Dzong below it
- Walk to the dzong across the traditional covered cantilever bridge
6Day 6 - Trip ends at Paro Airport - Departure from Paro
- Breakfast and check out
- Transfer to Paro International Airport
- Trip ends
