Day-wise plan
Every day runs on a private cab - the order and pace are yours to change.
1Day 1 - Trip begins at Guwahati - Guwahati - Umiam Lake -
- Mawdok Valley - Pynursla.
- Welcome to Meghalaya - where clouds drift low, forests breathe deep, and every road promises a story.
- As you meet your travel fam at Airport, the road trip begins - filled with shared laughs, winding hills, cascading waterfalls, and moments that turn strangers into memories together.
- 9:45 AM - LOKPRIYA GOPINATH BOARDING POINT >> BORDOLOI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, GUWAHATI.
- Umiam Lake - Mawkdok Valley Views.
- Watch the world slowly change outside your window: city rhythms fading into winding highways, green hills wrapped in clouds, and finally quiet village roads painted in lush hues.
- As we near Mawkdok Valley, the air turns crisp - trading Guwahati’s 30°C warmth for a refreshing 15°C chill.
- A scenic halt awaits at Umiam Lake - sweet pineapples in hand, serene waters in sight.
- By 2:00 PM, Mawkdok Valley View point greets us with playful weather - mist, drizzle, and sudden sunshine.
- Then comes the thrill: East India’s longest zip-line, a soaring 2,600 ft glide over a dramatic 1,200 ft drop.
- Lunch follows at a cozy café, along with a brief stop at a nearby waterfall, before a short drive to our stay.
- In the evening, dinner is served by the warm and gentle Khasi people - a chance to share smiles, simple conversations, and a glimpse into their beautiful culture.
2Day 2 - Pynursla - Krang Shuri & Phe Phe Falls -
- Dawki - Pynursla.
- You won’t need to carry all your luggage today - it stays back at the property.
- With two water sessions lined up, the day is all about splashes, swims, and carefree moments.
- We begin at 06:00 AM, heading through rolling green hills to Krang Shuri Falls (under 2 hours).
- After a quick breakfast, a 10-15 minute forest walk opens up to its unreal blue pool - where we linger, swim, and simply be.
- On the way back, we make a brief stop at Phe Phe Falls (30 Minutes Trek) - a quieter cascade tucked amid dense greenery, perfect for a short pause and a few serene moments.
- Later, we drive about an hour to the boating point at the crystal- clear Dawki River.
- The boat glides to a ~25 ft cliff-jumping spot and a tiny island - life jackets on, thrill optional, magic guaranteed.
- From here, you’ll even spot the sands of Bangladesh across the border.
- By late afternoon, a relaxed 40-minute drive brings us back to the stay - sun-kissed, water-soaked, and smiling.
3Day 3 - Pynursla - Mawryngkhang Bamboo Trek -
- Wei Sawdong Falls - Cherrapunji.
- Today we head to one of Meghalaya’s most off-beat gems - the Mawryngkhang Bamboo Trek.
- A scenic one-hour drive brings us to Wahkhen Village, where the trek begins after a hearty breakfast en route.
- Nestled in the East Khasi Hills, Mawryngkhang translates to “King of Stones,” with the prefix U used as a mark of reverence.
- The trail is an adventure in itself, narrow bamboo walkways tied with cane ropes, suspended over farms, streams, and deep gorges.
- We pause along the way to soak in the dramatic views before retracing the same path back to the village.
- From Wahkhen, we continue toward the breathtaking Wei Sawdong Falls (under 2 hours), stopping for a quick lunch on the way.
- A short 15-20 minute descent leads to the falls - a surreal cascade of three tiers of teal-blue water, truly a heavenly sight.
- We spend some quiet moments here before heading out prior to dusk.
- Another 1.5 hour drive brings us to today’s stay, wrapping up a day filled with adventure and awe.
4Day 4 - Seven Sister Falls, Mawsmai Caves,
- Double Decker Living Root Bridge Trek.
- Today as well, you need not carry all your luggage - just bring a daypack with one extra pair of clothes.
- Do wear quick-dry clothes and shoes right from the morning, because today is all about the longest and most rewarding hike of the trip.
- We begin with visits to Seven Sister Waterfalls and the fascinating Mawsmai Cave, before heading to Tyrna Village - the starting point of our trek to the iconic Double Decker Living Root Bridge.
- The Nongriat hike involves descending around 3,500 steps into the valley, then ascending and traversing through the trail.
- Unlike the Bamboo Trek, this route is quite popular, so you’ll find small shops every 500-600 meters.
- Along the route, we pause at Blue Lagoon - a quiet spot where time slows down and the blues run deeper than the water.
- The Double-Decker Root Bridge is truly a sight to behold, believed to be around 200 years old.
- From Tyrna, it takes roughly 1 hour 15 minutes to reach, crossing suspension bridges as we make our way through the valley.
5Day 5 - Trip ends at Guwahati - Nohkalikai Falls & Towards Guwahati
- Today marks the final chapter of the journey.
- On the way, we stop at the viewpoint of Nohkalikai Falls - the tallest plunge waterfall in India, cascading into a striking pool of emerald-green water below.
- This also serves as a buffer day, allowing us to cover any experiences or spots that may have been missed earlier in the trip.
- You may plan your onward journey after 06:00 PM from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, carrying back memories of a truly immersive adventure.
