1Day 1 - Trip begins at Bagdogra - Arrive at Bagdogra, drive to Gangtok
- Land at Bagdogra Airport and meet your private cab for the scenic climb to Gangtok, Sikkim's capital sitting at about 5,500 ft (around 120 km, 4 to 5 hours depending on hill roads and weather).
- Check in to your hotel and unwind; the evening is yours to stroll MG Marg or simply settle in.
- Overnight in Gangtok.
2Day 2 - Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir day trip
- After breakfast, head out on the high-altitude excursion to Tsomgo Lake at 12,310 ft and the revered Baba Mandir at 13,200 ft (roughly 55 km, about 3 hours each way).
- If permits and weather allow, you can extend the drive to Nathula Pass on the old Indo-China border at your own cost (closed on Mondays; permits are never guaranteed).
- If snowfall, landslides or army restrictions close the road, alternate sightseeing around Gangtok is arranged instead.
- Overnight in Gangtok.
3Day 3 - Gangtok local sightseeing
- Spend the day exploring Gangtok with your cab: the Flower Show, Cottage Industry and Handicraft Centre, Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, Do Drul Chorten stupa, Ranka Monastery and Banjhakri Waterfall.
- Return to the hotel by evening with time to relax or shop.
- Overnight in Gangtok.
4Day 4 - Gangtok to Pelling via Namchi
- Set off early after breakfast for Pelling, a quiet hill station at about 6,300 ft (around 150 km, 5 hours).
- Break the journey at Namchi's Char Dham complex, a tea garden and a waterfall en route.
- The Buddha Park at Ravangla can be added on the way for a small extra entry fee paid directly.
- Overnight in Pelling.
5Day 5 - Pelling sightseeing
- A full day around Pelling: walk the glass Sky Walk to the giant Chenrezig statue, then visit Pemayangtse Monastery and the Rabdentse palace ruins.
- Continue to the bird sanctuary, Kanchenjunga Waterfall and the sacred, wish-fulfilling Khecheopalri Lake.
- Evening free at the hotel with Kanchenjunga views on a clear day.
- Overnight in Pelling.
6Day 6 - Pelling to Darjeeling
- After breakfast, drive across the border of Sikkim into West Bengal's tea country to reach Darjeeling (about 80 km, 4 hours).
- Check in and spend the rest of the day at leisure on the Mall Road or in a cosy cafe.
- Overnight in Darjeeling.
7Day 7 - Tiger Hill sunrise and Darjeeling sightseeing
- A 4 AM start takes you to Tiger Hill to watch the first light hit the Kanchenjunga range, the world's third-highest peak at 28,208 ft.
- On the way back, stop at Batasia Loop and the Gorkha War Memorial, then return for breakfast.
- Later, tour the Japanese Temple and Peace Pagoda, the zoo (closed Thursdays), Tenzing Rock, the Tibetan Refugee Centre and a working tea garden.
- Fancy the famous Toy Train? Book your joyride online on IRCTC; tickets are extra.
- Overnight in Darjeeling.
8Day 8 - Trip ends at Bagdogra - Darjeeling to Bagdogra, departure
- After breakfast, drive down from Darjeeling to Bagdogra Airport (about 80 km, 4 hours) for your onward flight or train.
- Book departures after 12 PM to comfortably make the transfer; very early or odd-hour transfers cost extra per vehicle.
- Your Himalayan holiday ends with a cab-side goodbye at the airport.
