Day-wise plan
Every day runs on a private cab - the order and pace are yours to change.
1Day 1 - Trip begins at Siliguri - Arrive in Siliguri, drive to Gangtok
- Your private cab collects you at Bagdogra airport or NJP railway station for the drive up to Gangtok.
- Check in and take the day at your own pace, just the two of you.
- Easy evening options: the golden-domed Do Drul Chorten stupa, the pretty Bakthang waterfall, or a slow walk down MG Marg.
2Day 2 - Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir excursion
- Drive into the high mountains east of Gangtok, pausing at Kyongnosla for alpine forest and waterfalls.
- Stand together at glacial Tsomgo Lake, 12,400 ft up, where the water mirrors the peaks and shifts colour with the seasons.
- Visit Baba Mandir, the shrine to soldier Baba Harbhajan Singh, said to still watch over these heights.
- Back to Gangtok for the night; optional yak ride and ropeway at the lake.
3Day 3 - North to Lachen
- Check out and wind north through river gorges to Lachen, a hushed village ringed by snow peaks.
- Stop at Chungthang where the Lachen and Lachung rivers meet.
- Check in, then wander the village lanes hand in hand and soak up the mountain quiet.
4Day 4 - Gurudongmar Lake, then to Lachung
- Early start for Gurudongmar Lake, one of the highest lakes in the world, prized for its crystal water and sacred aura.
- Drive across to Lachung, breaking at the tall Bhim Nala waterfall spilling into the green valley.
- Check in at Lachung and rest for the night in the clean mountain air.
5Day 5 - Yumthang Valley, back to Gangtok
- Morning in Yumthang, the Valley of Flowers, at its most colourful in spring.
- Walk the Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary with its 24 plus rhododendron varieties, and dip into the warm Yumthang hot springs.
- Drive back to Gangtok for your final night together.
6Day 6 - Trip ends at Bagdogra - Departure
- After breakfast, check out and get driven down to NJP railway station or Bagdogra airport for your journey home.
