Which Indian city do I fly from?

Any of them. Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City both have direct flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Ahmedabad, and one-stop options from every other Indian city. International airfare is not part of this price, so you can book the routing that suits you and we will match the plan to your arrival time.

Is this a group departure or a private trip?

This is a private trip. Your own vehicle and driver, your own dates and only your own group. Nothing is shared with strangers and the day plan can be reshaped around you.

Do Indian passport holders need a visa for Vietnam?

Yes. Indian nationals need a Vietnam e-visa, applied for online before travelling, and it is usually granted within a few working days. You need a passport valid for at least six months and a recent photograph. The visa fee is not included in this price. We apply for your Vietnam e-visa for you, at least three weeks before you fly, and confirm the current rules for your dates.

What is the best time to make this trip?

Vietnam is long enough that the north and south run on different seasons. March to April and October to November suit the whole country best. The north is cold and misty from December to February, while the south stays warm all year and is wettest between June and September.

What is the night on the bay like?

You sleep aboard a cruise boat in a private cabin with an attached bathroom, and meals are served on board. Kayaking and a cave visit are usually part of the sailing. In poor weather the port authority can suspend sailings, which is outside anyone's control, and we rearrange the night on shore if that happens.

How much of this trip is spent travelling between cities?

The long hops between the north, the centre and the south are covered by internal flights of about an hour rather than by overnight road or rail, so the sightseeing days stay intact. Shorter legs are by private car. Internal flight tickets are not included in the price, and we can suggest timings.

Easy cycle ride through the fields to Bich Dong Pagoda
Return to Hanoi for the night

3Day 3 · Halong Bay and a night on the water

Check out and drive to the harbour at Tuan Chau
Board a bay cruise and sail out among the limestone islands
Stop at Ti Top Island and a pearl farm, with kayaking and swimming
Onboard Vietnamese cooking demonstration in the evening
Overnight in a cabin on the bay

4Day 4 · Halong Bay morning and flight to Da Nang

Early tai chi session on deck as the boat moves through the bay
Visit the large Surprise Cave before returning to the harbour
Road transfer back to Hanoi airport for the flight to Da Nang (not included, we can suggest timings)
Arrival transfer to the Da Nang hotel and overnight

5Day 5 · Ba Na Hills and the Golden Bridge

Transfer to the cable car station for the ride up to Ba Na Hills
Walk the Golden Hand Bridge and the hilltop French style village
See the Debay wine cellar and the tall Lady Buddha at Linh Ung Pagoda
Time for the rides at the indoor amusement park
Return to Da Nang for the night

6Day 6 · Flight to Ho Chi Minh City and free time

Check out and transfer to Da Nang airport for the flight south (not included, we can suggest timings)

Rest of the day free, with the war museum or the central market as options at your own cost

7Day 7 · Mekong Delta day trip

Road transfer to My Tho on the Mekong
Visit the Buddhist shrine at Vinh Trang Pagoda
Boat cruise on the river past the islets named for the turtle, dragon and phoenix
