Sikkim trip cost and what the price covers

Sikkim packages start at ₹19,345 per person: ₹20,000 for 5 days, ₹19,345 for 6 days, ₹26,499 for 7 days and ₹23,999 for 8 days. That covers the stays, the private cab from Bagdogra or NJP and back, the sightseeing each trip page lists, and the permits where the trip page includes them. Flights and trains to Bagdogra or NJP are not included; you book them yourself.

What moves the price is the season, the hotel category, the size of the car (a hatchback or an SUV for your group) and how many nights go to North Sikkim, where the meals are included. October to early December, the April to June holidays and the Christmas and New Year weeks cost the most; the July to September monsoon costs the least. Nathula, Zero Point and the other high add-ons are paid per vehicle on the spot, and the prices shown are before 5% GST.

  • Best time: October to early December and March to June are the best months: clear Kanchenjunga views and dry roads in the autumn, rhododendrons in the Yumthang Valley and mild days in spring.
  • Weather: Gangtok sits at about 1,650 m and Darjeeling at about 2,000 m, with summer days of 18 to 25°C and winter days of 10 to 15°C, nights falling to about 3 to 5°C.
