November to March is the wet season: warm, green and cheaper, with sunny spells between heavy downpours, wettest from December to February, and February and March have the cheapest fares from South India. Temperatures are rough daytime figures at the coast from a Bali travel site rather than Indonesia's weather agency, so read them as a guide. Ubud is a few degrees cooler, and early mornings at Kintamani can be chilly.
April to June: the best-value dry weeks
The days are mostly sunny, the humidity drops, and the sea is calmer for the fast boat to Nusa Penida, while prices sit below the July and August peak. It suits honeymoons and families alike. July and August: the driest, busiest and dearest
These are the driest weeks and the most crowded. Villas, Nusa Penida boats and the Uluwatu sunset spots fill up and cost the most, and so do flights from India. Google Flights' typical economy return fares, checked in September 2026, peak in August from Bengaluru at ₹45,500 to ₹70,000, and in July from Hyderabad at ₹48,500 to ₹63,000 and from Chennai at ₹44,000 to ₹56,000. If these are your only weeks, book the flight and the stays early, and reach Tegallalang's rice terraces before 9 am. Ubud evenings are cool, so pack a layer for Kintamani too.
September and October: dry, with the crowds gone
The weather stays dry after August but the crowds thin, which makes these two months one of the best times for a first trip or a honeymoon. The Uluwatu sunset, the temples and the beach afternoons all work without the August crowds. The first showers can arrive in late October, so if your dates are flexible, aim for September to mid-October.
November to March: the wet season
The wet season is warm and humid, with sunny spells between heavy downpours. It is wettest from December to February, when some streets in Kuta flood and rough seas can cancel fast boats to Nusa Penida, so keep that day away from your last day in Bali. The rice terraces are at their greenest.
It is also when flights are cheapest. Typical return fares in March are ₹17,500 to ₹36,000 from Chennai and ₹23,000 to ₹45,500 from Hyderabad; from Bengaluru, February is cheapest at ₹24,500 to ₹41,000. The exception is Christmas to New Year, priced as peak despite the rain.
Nyepi and the other dates to plan around
Nyepi, the Balinese Day of Silence, is the one date that can undo a plan: for 24 hours the airport closes and visitors stay inside their hotels. Bali calendars put Nyepi on Tuesday 9 March 2027, from 6 am that day to 6 am on 10 March, and the ogoh-ogoh parades on the evening of 8 March close roads in many areas. Confirm the date when you book, and do not plan to arrive or leave on 9 March.

- July and August: the dearest flights from South India and the busiest weeks on the island.
