Vietnam Trip Cost from India in 2026: Flights, Visa, Stays and Food

Travloger Team15 Sept 20266 min read

A seven-day Vietnam trip from India costs about ₹92,000 to ₹1.54 lakh per person in 2026, once the return flight, the e-visa, a land package, food and spending money are counted, before the taxes added to the package quote. Here it is line by line for two people, at September 2026 prices, with our own package prices and what they leave out.

What seven days costs for two, line by line

For two peopleSaving: February or MarchComfortable: May, June or September
Land package, 7 days₹1,19,900₹1,19,900
Return flights₹40,000 to ₹80,000₹66,000 to ₹1,10,000
E-visa, single entry₹4,800₹4,800
Food and drink, 7 days₹10,000 to ₹17,000₹28,000 to ₹49,000
Spending allowance₹10,000₹25,000
Total for two₹1,84,700 to ₹2,31,700₹2,43,700 to ₹3,08,700

The package line is our 7 Days Vietnam Halong Saigon Mekong Bliss at ₹59,950 per person on twin sharing; GST and tax collected at source (TCS) on the foreign remittance are added to its quote. Flights and food are typical September 2026 ranges, and the food line counts full days although breakfast is included. The allowance is our planning figure for Grab rides, a SIM card, tips and small tickets, not a price.

Flights: ₹20,000 to ₹55,000 return per person

The flight moves most, and it is not part of our packages; we quote it separately on request. Google Flights' typical economy return fares, viewed on 14 September 2026:

  • Hyderabad to Ho Chi Minh City: ₹23,500 to ₹32,000 in February, the cheapest month; ₹34,000 to ₹55,000 in June, the dearest.
  • Hyderabad to Hanoi: ₹26,000 to ₹40,000 in March; ₹33,000 to ₹43,000 in June.
  • Bengaluru to Ho Chi Minh City: ₹23,000 to ₹35,000 in March; ₹34,500 to ₹48,500 in September.
  • Bengaluru to Hanoi: ₹26,000 to ₹36,500 in February; ₹34,500 to ₹47,000 in May.
  • Chennai to Ho Chi Minh City: ₹20,000 to ₹29,000 in March; ₹34,000 to ₹47,500 in June.

Hyderabad and Bengaluru fly non-stop to Hanoi on Vietnam Airlines and to Ho Chi Minh City on VietJet, each a few days a week, about four to five hours overnight, and a non-stop seat often costs more than a one-stop fare. Chennai has no non-stop; with one connection the journey usually takes 7 hours or more. City details are on the Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai pages.

Visa: US$25, about ₹2,400

Indian passport holders need an e-visa for Vietnam as of September 2026. The official fee on evisa.gov.vn is US$25 for a single entry or US$50 for multiple entry, about ₹2,400 or ₹4,800 at roughly ₹95 to the dollar. The fee is paid separately from our packages, and we help with the paperwork. Apply at least three weeks before you fly; the steps are in Vietnam visa for Indians.

Hotels by tier, if you book them yourself

  • Budget: ₹1,000 to ₹2,500 a night for a basic private double; Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City cost more than Hoi An or Ninh Binh.
  • Mid-range: ₹3,500 to ₹7,000 for a three- to four-star or boutique hotel in Hanoi, Hoi An or Da Nang.
  • Luxury: beach resorts from about ₹7,500. Five-star city hotels and upper-end Halong Bay cruises cost well above that; ₹15,000 or more a night is a rough guide, not a quoted rate.

The 7-day route has five hotel nights besides the cruise. Booked mid-range, those alone cost two people ₹17,500 to ₹35,000, before the cruise night, transfers, excursions, Halong Bay entry ticket and domestic flight that the ₹59,950 per person package also covers.

Food: ₹700 to ₹3,500 a day

Street food and local cafés cost about ₹700 to ₹1,200 per person a day: pho from VND 40,000 (about ₹150), a banh mi or a drip coffee about ₹70, at roughly 273 dong to the rupee. With sit-down dinners or Indian restaurants, plan ₹2,000 to ₹3,500. Indian restaurants are easy to find in Hanoi's Old Quarter, District 1 in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and Hoi An. Vegetarians do well at Buddhist chay restaurants and should ask for no fish sauce elsewhere. Breakfast is included on all our Vietnam trips.

Getting around and entry tickets

Use the Grab app or metered company taxis in the cities; bus 49 from Ho Chi Minh City's airport to District 1 costs VND 40,000, about ₹150. By road, Hanoi to Halong Bay is 2.5 to 3 hours and Hanoi to Ninh Binh about 2; between regions you fly. Typical tickets:

  • Hoi An Ancient Town: VND 120,000, about ₹440, for five heritage sites.
  • Trang An boat trip, Ninh Binh: VND 250,000 to 300,000, about ₹900 to ₹1,100; sources differ on the 2026 price.
  • Cu Chi Tunnels: roughly VND 125,000 to 135,000, about ₹460 to ₹500.
  • Ba Na Hills cable car and Golden Bridge: roughly VND 950,000 to 1,000,000, about ₹3,500 to ₹3,700.

The excursions on each itinerary are in the package price, so check the trip page before buying a ticket twice. On the 5 Days Hanoi Halong Bay Ninh Binh Escape, the Tam Coc rowing boat is paid locally.

How to bring the number down

  1. Fly in February or March, when return fares start around ₹20,000.
  2. Compare the one-stop fare before booking the non-stop.
  3. Fly into Hanoi and out of Ho Chi Minh City, or the reverse, so you never pay to double back.
  4. Keep five days to one region: the Hanoi, Ninh Binh and Halong Bay trip needs no domestic flight.
  5. Avoid Diwali, Christmas to New Year, the May and June school holidays, and Tet, around 6 February in 2027, when Vietnam's hotels fill up.
