Flying to Thailand from Mumbai

Non-stop Mumbai to Bangkok flights take about 4 hours 30 minutes, several a day on Air India, Thai Airways, IndiGo and Thai VietJet, and Mumbai also flies non-stop to Phuket in about 4 hours 50 minutes on IndiGo, Thai VietJet, Akasa Air and SpiceJet (schedules as of September 2026). Krabi is reached from Phuket by road, or from Bangkok by air.

Flights from Mumbai leave from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM). They are not part of the package price: the planner quotes them separately on request, so you choose the airline, the timing and the fare, and the trip starts from the airport transfer when you land.

How many days for Thailand from Mumbai

With a non-stop of about 4 hours 30 minutes, a Mumbai traveller loses only part of the first and the last day, so the 5- and 6-day plans are enough for a first visit; the longer ones add a second base or slower days.

6 plans fit that, from ₹27,250 per person: 5 Days Bangkok Pattaya Honeymoon Retreat (5D/4N, from ₹27,250); 5 Days Bangkok Pattaya Escape (5D/4N, from ₹28,499); 6 Days Phuket Bangkok Pattaya Getaway (6D/5N, from ₹32,000); 6 Days Phuket Krabi Getaway (6D/5N, from ₹33,999).

When to go to Thailand from Mumbai

The holidays Mumbai travels on, and what Thailand is like in those weeks:

  • Ganeshotsav (August or September): Thailand in September is one of the wettest months in Phuket, Krabi and Bangkok, when island boat trips can be cancelled.
  • Diwali holidays (October to November), the longest school break: Thailand in November is the start of the cool, dry peak season.
  • Christmas and New Year: Thailand in December is the cool, dry peak season.
  • Summer holidays (May): Thailand in May is hot, with the rains starting mid-month and hotel prices falling.

November to February is the cool, dry peak season: Bangkok is at its most comfortable, the sea around Phuket and Krabi is calm, and the islands stay good into April. March to May is hot, April most of all. The rains run from about mid-May to October and bring the lowest hotel prices; September and October are the wettest months in Phuket and Krabi, and in Bangkok too, when island boat trips can be cancelled; Maya Bay closes every year from 1 August to 30 September. Koh Samui and Koh Phangan get their heaviest rain from October to December.

Thailand trip cost from Mumbai

Thailand packages from Mumbai start at ₹27,250 per person: ₹27,250 for 5 days, ₹32,000 for 6 days and ₹39,750 for 7 days. That is a land package: the hotels, airport transfers, the sightseeing and activities listed on each trip page, and a planner on WhatsApp through the trip. Flights from Mumbai are not included; they are quoted separately so you pick the airline and dates. Visa and entry fees are paid separately unless the trip page lists them.

Thailand is the easiest first holiday abroad from South India: visa-free entry for Indians (30 days, as of September 2026), non-stop flights of about four hours, Indian and vegetarian food in the main tourist towns, and city nights and island days in the same week. The price moves with the hotel category, the month and the group size, so share those three and you get an exact quote rather than a starting figure.

Thailand visa and money for travellers from Mumbai

Visa: As of September 2026, Indian passport holders arriving on or after 15 September 2026 can enter Thailand for tourism without a visa and stay up to 30 days, down from the earlier 60. Fill in the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card online in the three days before you land, and carry a return ticket, your hotel booking, a passport with at least six months of validity left and enough money to show if immigration asks. For a longer stay, arrange a Thai e-visa before you fly, or ask an immigration office in Thailand for an extension of up to 30 days, which is at the officer's discretion and charged a fee. The rule has changed several times, so we recheck it before your travel date.

Money: Thai baht (THB). Cards are accepted in Bangkok's malls, hotels and larger restaurants, but street food, markets, tuk-tuks, island boats and national park fees are usually paid in cash. Indian debit and forex cards work at Thai ATMs, but Thai banks add a flat fee of about 250 baht a withdrawal (more on some cards) on top of your own bank's charges. India's UPI is not part of Thailand's cross-border QR payment scheme as of mid-2026, so do not count on paying by UPI.
